Greetings, Nova Integration Hub Community!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of #Nova4Nature!

 

This exciting, connective experience promotes nature-relatedness throughout the month of April, with special celebrations on Earth Day (April 22). During this month-long campaign, we invite you to explore your relationship to the natural world and embrace its importance for our collective health by sowing the seeds of empathy for the Earth — and to share your experience on the Hub and other social media platforms with the hashtag #Nova4Nature! 

Nature-relatedness refers to the extent to which an individual feels a psychological and emotional connection with the natural environment. The concept encompasses a profound understanding of our place within the ecosystem, as well as an appreciation for the interdependence of all living beings.

Research consistently demonstrates that fostering nature-relatedness has a  significant positive impact on our well-being and overall planetary health. Engaging with nature reduces stress, improves mental health, and inspires creativity. Moreover, it nurtures a sense of belonging and empathy and encourages us to care for our environment and each other.

The Nova4Nature campaign challenges people to deepen their connections with nature, cultivate a sense of responsibility toward our planet, and foster an empathetic understanding of the diverse experiences of its inhabitants.

Throughout April, we will share a variety of resources and activities designed to enhance your connection with the natural world. Our team has curated a selection of articles, webinars, and podcasts to enrich your understanding of nature-relatedness and its benefits. Additionally, we will post some of the ways we at Nova connect with nature and explore how we interact and think about the living world around us.

In today’s fast-paced and technology-driven world, it is easy to lose sight of the natural world that surrounds and sustains us. We invite you to join us in the Nova4Nature “challenge” by dedicating time each day to reconnect with nature – whether that’s walking in the woods, admiring houseplants, sitting in the sun and thinking about how nature supports us, reading a nature poem (or peer-reviewed study!), or anything else that feels connective and accessible. By turning our attention to the natural world, we can strengthen our bonds with the environment and each other and promote a healthier and more compassionate future for all.
